POS-link architecture is based on a real-time system allowing all information such as sales, transactions; stock etc is visible across the whole estate. The tills, back office and head office systems have an open link so that information is constantly flowing between each system providing a number of benefits such as:
- Transactions are replicated on the central systems at real time allowing live reporting and processing on information so a snap shot of sales can be provided at any time
- Real-Time companywide Stock inventory accessible from any location, allowing all parts of the business to see the stock position of all stores at any time
- Ability to do live configuration on the tills, e.g. change promotions and prices centrally which will automatically update the tills as and when needed
- Data to be shared across multiple channels for example e-commerce information such as customer information can be shared at the tills and vice versa
